The first three U2 albums (Boy, October, and War) are being re-released in June and getting the deluxe re-isssue treatment (remastering, extended liner notes, and a second disc of B-sides and unreleased tracks for each album). I get to review them for Paste.
I'm a happy guy. These are my favorite U2 albums, and I'm looking forward to hearing all the goodies and sharing my thoughts.
Very cool. I still think "Out of Control" is one of U2's best singles. Looking forward to reading your thoughts.

ReplyDeletei'm eager to hear your take on them. the remastered Joshua Tree was totally worth buying, so I'm curious to know if the remastered early albums will be worth it as well. i'm sure Edge's liner notes are probably worth the price alone...
You lucky, lucky man!
ReplyDeleteIt's about time they did this. I am excited about the b-sides, rare tracks, etc. Some of that stuff I haven't heard since I last played my 45's......
ReplyDeleteYep, I still have them, just don't have a turntable to listen to them.
Here's to the early stuff! My favorite album's still "Under A Blood Red Sky."
ReplyDelete...And just to pin it down even further, the best moment on that album is undeniably Adam Clayton's bass solo during "Gloria", rendering the last 25 years and all subsequent contributions by Bono and The Edge mere denouement.
