Some days I'm in meetings, and other days I need to get information from people, but for the most part I'm sitting all by my lonesome and writing sentences like, "For a device to be properly managed, SNMP trap destination, SNMP read, and SNMP write community strings must be in place." And on those days I probably spend 3 - 4 hours listening (or at least half listening) to music, because those kinds of sentences don't require my full attention.Andy Whitmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04010130934552315074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9991864.post-1144253866706353102006-04-05T12:17:00.000-04:002006-04-05T12:17:00.000-04:00Andy,I'm in awe of the cuts you get to listen too....Andy,

I'm in awe of the cuts you get to listen too. Jan and I have this thing about Steely Dan: I like them in spite of Fagen's voice, Jan can't stand them because she can't get past Fagen's voice (we've had these conversations before about personal preferences re singing voices). I'll probably get the album and not play it when Jan's around. After 38.5 years of marriage, you learn things.

Finally found the Deadstring Brothers. Great album! Reminds me of when the Stones were worth listening to. I also got the Wood Brothers, one cut of which made the new Paste CD. Another good album. And I am really liking Songlines, by the Derek Trucks Band. Don't know if you know them, but these guys do blues, rock and jazz, and they could probably do a few other genres if they wanted to. Derek is Mr. Susan Tedeschi, if you didn't know that already.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9991864.post-1144245581249435512006-04-05T09:59:00.000-04:002006-04-05T09:59:00.000-04:00Yep, he sure did. Overall, the songs are not presented chronologically, but they are culled fairly evenly from across the catalogue (including several from Proof Through the Night, one of my favorites), and there are numerous hard-to-find or previously unavailable gems, including several Alpha Band tracks, a Coward Brothers (T Bone and Elvis Costello) track, a track from the unreleased The Tooth of Crime album, a song from the soundtrack to Wim Wenders' The Blues: The Soul of a Man, and previously unreleased tracks featuring flatpicker extraordinaire Norman Blake and Cajun singer/songwriter Ann Savoy. So lots of rare T Bone (and all extremely well done).Andy Whitmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04010130934552315074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9991864.post-1144242794617824182006-04-05T09:13:00.000-04:002006-04-05T09:13:00.000-04:00Quite jealous that you got to hear the T-bone stuf...Quite jealous that you got to hear the T-bone stuff.
